Last updated: May 2026 · BECTask Chrome Extension
BECTask does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. All task data, settings, and preferences are stored exclusively in your browser using the chrome.storage.local API and remain entirely on your device.
We have no backend, no database, and no way to access anything you create inside the extension.
Task content — including titles, descriptions, notes, URLs, and tags — is used solely to display and manage your tasks within the extension. No data is shared with third parties, advertisers, or any external service, at any time, for any reason.
The extension requests the minimum permissions necessary to function. Here is exactly what each permission is used for:
No permission is used to access, transmit, or analyse your browsing activity.
On WhatsApp Web, the extension adds a small button to message elements. Clicking it lets you convert that message into a task. The message text is stored locally as task description content only — it is never transmitted externally and never leaves your browser.
The extension does not read, scan, or log your WhatsApp messages in any way beyond what you explicitly choose to capture.
BECTask does not integrate with, or send data to, any third-party analytics platform, advertising network, or cloud service. There are no external scripts loaded by the extension.
Your tasks exist only in your browser's local storage. You can delete any or all tasks at any time from within the extension. Uninstalling the extension will remove all associated data from your device.
If this privacy policy changes, an updated version will be published on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Because we collect no contact information, we cannot notify you directly — please check back here if you have questions.
